Park Springs Participates in Alzheimer’s Walk!

Family, friends and employees of Park Springs gathered on Saturday, October 8th for the annual Alzheimer’s Memory Walk at Atlantic Station. Walkers decorated “memory flowers” in honor or memory of loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementias. At the end of the 3 mile walk, all the flowers were planted in a “memory garden.” The hundreds of planted flowers made quite the impact. Our group had a great time walking together for this important cause. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

Cobblestone Receives Gift!

Cobblestone recently received a very generous gift from the Brown family. Robert and Aline Brown were both Cobblestone Members for several years. Their family has donated this beautiful teak patio furniture in their memory and as a gift to the facility which ”took such great care” of the couple over the years.  The patio furniture has granite stones in the center and an umbrella for protection from the sun.  The furniture will allow Members to enjoy outdoor/patio dining when the weather is mild. Cobblestone Members are thrilled and the furniture is already in use! A dedication ceremony will be held in October with the Brown family.

Chaplain Intern at Cobblestone

Did you know that our Atlanta continuing care retirement community has a chaplain intern right now? We do! Susan Ferdon is a divinity student at McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University.

Susan makes rounds at Cobblestone on Wednesdays, facilitates the Park Springs Bereavement Group and has also been gracious enough to assist with our annual Service of Remembrance and with various other speaking engagements around Park Springs.

We have certainly enjoyed having Susan here and benefiting from her special gifts. Look for her on Wednesday afternoons at Cobblestone!
