INSURANCE COMMISSIONER JOHN OXENDINE VISITS PARK SPRINGS

Commissioner tours Park Springs to learn more about Continuing Care Retirement Communities

March 30, 2006 - Insurance and Fire Commissioner John Oxendine visited Park Springs in Stone Mountain on Tuesday, March 21, to learn about Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) and the niche they serve in the growing seniors' housing market. Under Georgia legislative law, the Georgia Insurance and Fire Commissioner regulates all CCRCs. Commissioner Oxendine joined Isakson-Barnhart Founder and Partner Andy Isakson, Park Springs Managing Member Kevin Isakson and Park Springs Executive Director Lisa Hardy for a tour of the state-of-the-art Park Springs CCRC.
"We were honored to have Commissioner Oxendine visit Park Springs," said Kevin Isakson, Managing Member of Park Springs and also Managing Member of Peachtree Hills Place, Isakson-Barnhart's second CCRC scheduled to open in Buckhead in 2008. "During our tour, we were able to offer the Commissioner a glimpse into the way our community functions and introduce him to many of the residents who enjoy living the luxurious lifestyle offered by Park Springs."
While at Park Springs, Commissioner Oxendine also met with representatives from the community’s Residents’ Council for a question and answer session.
"I have to admit that I am quite surprised with Park Springs," said Commissioner Oxendine. "This is my first visit to a CCRC, and I am really impressed with the quality of lifestyle Park Springs offers."
During the meeting with the Park Springs' Residents' Council, residents were able to ask questions to Commissioner Oxendine as well as receive questions from the Commissioner and his staff regarding Park Springs.

"Now that the lines of communication have been opened with the Commissioner's office, we hope our residents as well as our staff can have a continuing relationship with Commissioner Oxendine," continued Isakson. "We look forward to having him return to Park Springs in the future to meet with all of our residents."
