Frank & Meg Manning
Frank and Meg Manning love to explore, and their new home in Park Springs' Golfview Villas has opened a brand-new door to discovery. "Before we moved," says Meg, "we had no idea we’d have such easy access to Stone Mountain Park. Frank and I love to hike, and our special key opens a members-only gate to the lovely hiking trails in the park.” This
is truly an opportunity the Mannings and their 20 new friends — members of the Park Springs Hiking Group — take full advantage of often.
When they're not hiking Stone Mountain, Frank and Meg are involved in a number of activities at Park Springs. Like so many Park Springs members, they volunteer on committees that give all members a voice in the operation
of their community. Frank serves on the Resident Council, and has organized special gatherings and game nights for his neighborhood. Meg enjoys serving on the Library Committee and in the member-run convenience store. They both enjoy community trips to "The Ted" to watch the Braves, and agree that dinnertime is their favorite time of the day. "Our Main Dining Room is the absolute best place to meet our new neighbors," says Meg.
Living at Park Springs gives the Mannings the opportunity to stay involved with friends and activity in nearby Decatur, too, where they lived in the same house for 55 years. They both sing in the senior adult choir at their church; Frank, a former Southern Bell engineer, meets monthly with retirees from his company; and Meg, who worked in school administration,
enjoys a regular outing with retired teacher friends. Frank and Meg also enjoy reading, relaxing, chaircaning and gardening at their family cabin in the woods, where, they say, "we have the best-fed deer in the Atlanta area."
